ABOUT ME
Putting My Experience
to Work
I was born and raised in New Haven and brought up by two Honduran immigrants in Fair Haven, a predominantly Hispanic community.
From my family members receiving the Elm City Resident Card, the first municipal ID card made for undocumented immigrants in the United States in 2007, to my mother receiving her first English language classes at Junta, I witnessed the virtues of belonging to a city where the definition of community is expansive and ever-changing.
During high school, I joined a youth organization known as the New Haven Climate Movement. This experience introduced me to the realm of local politics in New Haven and the Board of Alders. With help from representatives on the Board of Alders, the New Haven Climate Movement successfully passed a Climate Emergency Resolution in the fall of 2019.
In this position, I aim to build upon my prior experiences and collaborate with constituents and other community members to create a better New Haven for all.
